The View from the Top was No Different than from the Bottom

It started off as an evening hike to be followed by watching the sunset with a glass of wine in hand. At least, that is what I had planned. My husband Marc, on the other hand, wanted some more adventure. Now, we are on this journey across the country to have more adventures, no doubt, but sometimes I just want to sip a glass of wine while watching the sunset.

So we completed an easy hike, then we found a great place to watch the sunset. How did I know it was a great place? There was a photography class there. About eight photographers and two teachers were set up to take in the view. Most of them were on the scenic overlook where I set up our camping chairs. In the meantime, Marc was talking to one of the teachers and noticed that a few students were up a hill as well. So what does he do? Climb the hill of course.

I took a video of him heading up; I was sure that he would hurt himself in some way. He did not. Marc really likes to climb. As a kid, he climbed all the time. He loves it. I do not. As a kid, as an adult, I fall often. I have never had good balance. Never. So I’m taking some pictures of him on this hill and laughing. Then it happened. The unthinkable. He waved at me to come up. Nope. I’m good. I had already started sipping some wine. He waved some more. Ugh. Well if he can do it….
